Twitter 'basically' adheres to new IT rules!

The Center on Tuesday told the Delhi High Court that social media company Twitter has 'basically' complied with the new IT rules enacted by the central government. Chief Compliance Officer, Resident Grievance Officer, Nodal Contact Person appointed on a permanent basis.

It is learned that a petition filed by Twitter alleging non-compliance with the new IT rules is being heard in the Delhi High Court. Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma on behalf of the Center said, "Twitter has appointed officers in accordance with the new laws. The details were revealed to me by the representatives of the concerned company through e-mail, ”he said. Responding to this, Justice Rekha Palli ordered to file an affidavit within two weeks. The affidavit will be recorded.

Twitter, on the other hand, also commented on the matter. The court revealed that the issue had been resolved with the deadline and that the officers had been appointed on a permanent basis. Filed an affidavit to this effect. The court said the affidavit would be recorded. The court adjourned the case till October 5.

It is well known that there are differences between Twitter and the Center over the implementation of new IT regulations. Twitter has also lost its mediator protection status for non-compliance with IT laws. This has led to cases being reported against company representatives in several states.
